In
the state of Assam, There is an Assam Secondary Education Board was
established to regulate, Supervise and develop Secondary education in
Assam. This board of education was established in 1961 under the Act ,
XXV in 1961. The Act came into force with effect from 29th January with
the publication of the Government of Assam. The board of education of
Assam is known as SEBA. This Assam Board started its journey on March
14, 1962.

The Assam government enacts the Assam board with Sri S.
C. Rajkhowa, D.P.I., Assam as a Chairman and Md.N. Islam, Inspector of
the school. The Board was first accommodated in the Conference Room of
the office of D.P.I., Assam at Shillong. The Board started functioning
from June 1,1962 to February 26,1963. There are a lot of subjects are
also provided by the Assam Board for the 10th class student.
